Hi! This is me right here on the left. My name is Max Janssen. I am Dutch but I prefer the English language. Somehow, everything about fantasy sounds weird an cringe to me in Dutch so I decided to write my story and blog in English. I grew up reading story's like Harry Potter and The lord of the rings and these kinds of stories captured my intrest instantly.
Fantasy and science fiction are almost the only two genres I read. Compared to those two, everything else seems kinda dull. Currently, my favorite storys are "The Name of the Wind" by Patrick Rothfuss and "The Cosmere" by Brandon Sanderson. I believe there are a lot of other amazing writers and stories out there but at the moment I like those the most. Welcome to my blog! I am Max Janssen, a young Dutch author who has a complicated relationship with the Dutch language. Growing up, I believed I would never need any other language. However, learning English changed my perspective. Not only did English open up a world of understanding for me, but I also found it much easier than Dutch. As someone diagnosed with dyslexia, I appreciate languages that are as straightforward as possible. While my English might not be perfect, my priority right now is developing my story—the grammar will follow.
